"Three recent exhibitions in the Paris region and in Rouen have explored abstraction in photography, or, more precisely, photography with an abstract appearance. This catalogue, common to all three exhibitions, presents seventy artists, some recognized (including Pippin and Rossiter, mentioned above), others much younger, and explores the ambivalence between abstract rendering and representation of a photographic reality", says Marc Lenot.
